What is A Balanced Diet?
A balance diet is a diet that allows your body to get the nutrition it needs to help it function and work properly. A balance diet must contain fresh fruits and vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains.
Why A Balanced Diet Is Important?
Like what is mentioned above, a balance diet will give nutrition needed by the body to function properly. By having a balanced diet menu, the body will be less prone to diseases, poor performance, infection, and fatigue. If a child does not have a balanced diet, they will have some problems related to body growth and development. And the bad news is that this bad eating habit might continue when they grow up.
The sign of lack of balanced diet is the rising number of obese and overweight people. If we don’t have a balanced diet, we can get some serious diseases, including cancer, stroke, heart disease, and diabetes.
Knowing that a balanced diet for weight loss program is highly effective, you might be more motivated to apply this diet into your life.
How to Get A Balanced Diet
A balanced diet plan is needed when you want to have the proper nutrition for your body. The guideline below will ensure that your diet is balanced and your nutrition is all fulfilled.
1. Vegetables
We can get a lot of minerals and vitamins from vegetables. The ones that are recommended are vegetables which have dark green leaves, such as broccoli, kale, green beans, spinach, and collard greens. You can eat them with anyway you like.
2. Fruits
Fruits are also rich of vitamins and other nutrition. Compared to vegetables, fruits are tastier, which makes it a good choice for a healthy snack. You can buy seasonal fruits in your local market since they are fresher.
3. Proteins
Protein is needed for the development of brain and muscle. The best sources of protein are meats and beans. For the meat, it is recommended to have lean, low-fat meats like fish, chicken, pork, or beef. To reduce the fat amount in the meat, you can throw away any skin or visible fat.
4. Grain
When we talk about grain, we don’t talk about the refined white flour. What are meant here are whole grains which also includes the hull. Instead of eating white bread, you can now choose the whole-grain bread.
5. Dairy
We can get vitamin D, calcium, and some nutrients from dairy products. However, since dairy products are also rich of fat, you can choose the reduced-fat or fat-free cheese, yogurt, or milk instead.
6. Oils
You can use low-fat oils for salad dressings and mayonnaise. The recommended low-fat oil is olive oil since its content of fat is lower than other vegetable oils. Avoid foods that have been deep-fried because they have a lot of empty calories.
A balanced diet plan also requires you to consume less alcohol, salt, sugars, refined grains, cholesterol, and solid and saturated fats.
